Puente Pricing: Free, Plus, Pro, Day Pass, and Business Plans Explained

How Puente’s Pricing is Structured

Puente is priced around one idea: you pay for how much you actually talk. Usage is metered in minutes of live conversation, so a light user pays little and a heavy user pays for what they use. You can start — and keep using Puente every day — without an account.

There are three personal plans (Free, Plus, Pro), two no-subscription options (Day Pass and minute packs), and Business plans for teams. For a breakdown of the no-subscription options, see the voice translator with no subscription guide.

Founding-member pricing: early subscribers lock in 30% off Plus and Pro — $6.99/month instead of $9.99, and $11.89/month instead of $16.99 — and keep that rate for as long as their subscription stays active. No countdowns; if you stay subscribed, the price stays.

Free

Cost: $0
Included: 10 minutes of translation per day
Account required: No

The Free plan is built for light, everyday use — a restaurant order, a quick direction, a short check-in. Ten minutes of active conversation a day covers most casual interactions. It uses the same DeepL Voice engine and the same 130+ languages as the paid plans, with natural idiom and tone rewriting and a standard matched voice. The linguistic premium (regional dialects, gender-correct speech, honorifics, and profession vocabulary) and voice cloning are reserved for paid plans.

Who this is for:

  • A tourist with one or two short cross-language interactions a day
  • A parent who occasionally needs to understand a note from a teacher
  • A small business owner who now and then assists a customer in another language
  • Anyone who wants to evaluate Puente’s quality before choosing a paid plan

Plus

Cost: $9.99/month (or $89/year) — founding members: $6.99/month, locked in
Included: 300 minutes a month (5 hours) + the full linguistic premium
Account required: No

Plus is the plan for regular users. It includes 300 minutes of conversation a month and unlocks the linguistic premium — the features that make a translation sound like it belongs to the person and the moment:

  • Regional dialects — 39 across 7 languages, e.g. Mexican, Colombian, Caribbean, Rioplatense, Chilean or Peninsular Spanish; US, UK, Indian, Australian or Nigerian English; plus Portuguese, Arabic, French and German variants.
  • Spoken vs. literary register — the everyday spoken form (not textbook prose) for 16 languages, including Tamil, Arabic, Greek, Czech and Bengali.
  • Your script, your numerals — Serbian in Cyrillic or Latin, and native numerals (١٢٣ · ๑๒๓ · १२३) for 20 languages. Both are opt-in and language-specific.
  • Gender-correct speech — your own words inflected to your gender (“estoy cansada,” not “cansado”) across roughly 30 gendered languages. Opt-in, never guessed from your voice.
  • Addressee honorifics — the right honorifics and kin-terms for an elder, a peer, a child, or a professional (Vietnamese ông/bà, Korean speech levels, Tagalog po/opo, Spanish don/doña).
  • Profession vocabulary — the nine domain packs described below, included at no extra charge.

Plus also adds per-speaker lanes (diarization), conversation history, and export.

Pro

Cost: $16.99/month (or $149/year) — founding members: $11.89/month, locked in
Included: 1,200 minutes a month (20 hours) + everything in Plus + voice cloning
Account required: No

Pro is for power users and anyone who wants their own voice carried across the language barrier. It includes 1,200 minutes a month, everything in Plus, and:

  • Voice cloning — with your explicit consent, translated audio can sound like you, not a generic voice.
  • ElevenLabs streaming voices — the highest-quality voice output (Plus uses Chirp HD).
  • Priority processing.

For a healthcare worker with limited-English patients, a teacher with non-English-speaking families, or anyone translating daily, Pro’s larger minute pool and cloning make it the natural choice.

Day Pass and Minute Packs — No Subscription

Not everyone wants a recurring plan. Two options give you Plus-level access without one:

  • Day Pass — $2.99: 120 minutes of Plus-level access, including the full linguistic premium. Ideal for a single appointment, a family event, or one intensive day of travel.
  • Minute packs — $4.99 for 300 minutes, or $12.99 for 1,000: pay-as-you-go credits with no subscription. Credits last 12 months and stack on top of any plan when you need extra minutes.

The Linguistic Premium: Profession Packs

Profession vocabulary packs add specialized terminology to Puente’s translation engine for nine professional domains. Buy any pack once and own it forever — $2.99 each ($0.99 for Emergency) — or get every pack included with Plus and up. See the full Profession Packs reference:

PackExample terms
MedicalDyspnea, PRN, diaphoresis, ecchymosis, contraindicated
LegalHabeas corpus, withholding of removal, credible fear, Miranda advisement
TradesFall protection, GFCI, MSDS, OSHA 300 log, confined space entry
RestaurantAllergen cross-contamination, mise en place, 86’d, cover count
FinanceFiduciary, amortization schedule, encumbrance, beneficial interest
EducationIEP, 504 plan, grade-level proficiency, IDEA parental rights
ChildcareDevelopmental milestone, separation anxiety, incident report protocol
Faith / Catholic MassCovenant, sanctification, eschatology, ecclesiastical
EmergencyTriage category, hemorrhagic shock, mechanism of injury, code status

Generic translation engines frequently paraphrase or mistranslate domain-specific terms because they are optimized for broad vocabulary breadth, not professional precision. “Diaphoretic” becomes “sweaty.” “PRN” stays untranslated. “Credible fear” — a legal term of art — gets rendered as a literal fear description. The profession packs correct this by injecting domain-aware glossaries into the translation pipeline, and because they’re bundled into Plus and Pro, there’s nothing extra to buy.

Business Plans

Business

Cost: From $149/month
Capacity: Pooled minutes + seats
Account required: No

The Business plan is designed for clinics, schools, restaurants, and teams that need shared access. Minutes and seats are pooled across the organization, and it adds an admin dashboard, usage reporting, and a custom glossary. The administrator activates Puente on staff devices without individual user accounts — no MDM, no SSO, no IT integration required.

Business is compatible with HIPAA-aligned workflows: Puente stores no audio and no session transcripts on any server, and consent/BAA support is included.

Enterprise

Cost: Custom
Capacity: Multi-location, volume pricing
Account required: No

Enterprise serves hospital systems, regional contractors, multi-location groups, school districts, and law firms deploying Puente at scale. It adds volume pricing, consent controls, and priority support, and — like Business — deploys via activation codes with no account infrastructure.
